2017 Beauty Favourites

Wednesday, 3 January 2018

I'm no beauty guru, but this year has definitely been a year where I've discovered a whole load of brilliant beauty products. Today I thought I'd share with you my favourites of 2017!

April Favourites

Tuesday, 2 May 2017

I'm a bit rubbish at doing monthly favourites - the months all merge into one and I don't realise when I'm constantly reaching for the same products. This month I stayed on track and decided to jot down bits and pieces when I realised they were breaking into my routine..

August Favourites

Wednesday, 2 September 2015

I really need to get into the habit of writing down my favourites throughout the month! August's favourites are sparse, featuring just 3 items, but 3 very worthy items nonetheless. First is my denim skirt from asos. As mentioned in a previous ootd, this skirt is my favourite summer purchase, I've practically lived in it for the past 4 weeks. My second favourite of the past month is Paco Rabanne's new perfume - Olympea. Jamie kindly treated me to a perfume shop voucher back at Christmas and I finally found a scent to spend it on! I just wish I had bought a bigger bottle now! Finally a beauty fave - Rimmels BB cream. Previously I'd been using a quite thick and high coverage foundation from Maybelline, and although I still use it occasionally, I've found myself reaching for this a lot more, especially during the daytime. It has a really light feel but covers just enough!

In terms of things that have happened this month, one very special thing stands out - a trip to London for two nights for Jamie's 18th Birthday. It was so lovely to spend a couple of nights away with him to celebrate, even if we were woken up at 3am by the fire alarm!! Another favourite of the month would be results day. Although my university offer was unconditional so ultimately grades didn't matter, I was super proud to find I'd done way better than expected, finishing with the grades AAB in A-Levels. Probably better not to talk about the celebrations that followed, it was messy.

P.S. I go to New York TOMORROW! How is that even possible? I'm super duper excited.

HAT - ASOS // NECKLACE - PRIMARK // UNION J ALBUM // THE BODY SHOP LIP BALM // YANKEE CANDLE IN MANDARIN CRANBERRY // MAKE-UP BEAUTY BLENDER SPONGE

Firsly, I hope you lot had a lovely Christmas! I ended up celebrating it all yesterday as my mum was working Christmas day, and I had so much fun! Although, I'm super confused about the days now as today feels like Boxing day..

I always end up forgetting to do monthly favourites, but being the last month of 2013, I couldn't miss out! It's finally reached the cold temperatures and wearing a hat is appropriate - this beanie from asos is perfect, I hate those ones that droop off your head!! I've also been living in this necklace from primark - it's a dupe of a topshop one I think, it just goes with pretty much everything. I've got into the habit of using my make-up beauty blender sponge again, after loosing my last one I got this ne from Superdrug, I just always find sponges work so much better than brushes on my skin! The cold weather makes my lips mega dry and although I hated this mango Body Shop lip balm at first I've loved it recently, it's very moisturising and gives a lovely shine too. I've fallen into the bad, bad, bad trap of bloggers candle loving - this is my first yankee candle and I haven't stopped burning it since I got it. I can tell it's going to be a great feeling when it's finished! Finally, I've had Union J playing in my ears not stop for the last month. My best friend and I have got VIP tickets to meet the boys in January in my hometown and you can't go to a concert without knowing the words can you?! My favourites are 'Amaze Me' and their cover of Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper'!

September Favourites

Scarlett Perfume
I got this perfume last year in duty free and it smells so good, despite the fact I bought it for the pretty bottle. It's a fairly floral smell and I've found myself wearing it daily recently and getting a few compliments!

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo - On and on bronze
The hype for these was a while ago but I've found myself going back to this little beauty recently, particularly for those days when I can't be bothered or don't had time for my makeup. it's super easy to apply, is a subtle but well pigmented colour and blends beautifully. I've found it also works brilliantly as a base for my eyeshadows and keeps them put a bit better acting like a primer!

Witch Hazel anti-blemish Primer
I bought this primer a while ago after my Nivea one left my skin dry. It's silicone based and only a little is needed. I've been using it every morning before I apply my make-up and it's definitely minimised my pores and helped my make-up stay put. I wouldn't necerssarily say it's prevented any breakouts though.

Watch
I've got back into the habit of wearing a watch every day now I'm back at Sixth Form and this Urban Outfitters one is the only I own - it actually has two other straps that you can change however this is my favourite. I'm on the hunt for one with a brown strap and bigger face for christmas so let me know if you reccomend one!

Glamour Magazine
I bought Glamour Magazine as The Wanted had done an interview with them, and I was really impressed with the magazine as a whole - it was cheaper than usual but I'm pretty sure it's normally only £2 or £3 anyway. It had so much to read and it took me quite a while to get through it all too which I always like in a Magazine. I'll deffo purchase this more often now.

Music -Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus
Yes, the video is awful. Really, really awful. But the song is SO good. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and I love the message it puts across. I'm excited to hear more of Miley's album!
