So 2016 is almost over and the time for a bit of reflection of a whirlwind of another year has come around again. I feel like although the year started in one of the worst ways possible with the loss of a loved one, I have achieved so much, pushed myself out of my comfort zone and had an all round brilliant year.
The first few months of the year were tough, in between uni and home, spending time with family, but I really saw Uni take a turn around in my second term. I found first term super tough but I'm so glad I stuck with it because I really started to reap the benefits by the time Easter came around!! I also decided to push myself this year, and last Christmas I decided to apply for a 12 week Summer Internship with the council, something really different to what I'd ever done, and after a gruelling applicant day in March, I found out I'd bagged the job.
I dedicated my Summer to working a 9-5 and actually really enjoyed chucking myself into a routine and doing something completely new to me. At the end of Summer Jamie and I went on our very first holiday abroad together to Spain for 2 weeks. We had the most amazing time and I feel so lucky to have such an amazing human being in my life! A month later we celebrated our 2 year anniversary up in Norwich.
Finally, the end of 2016 has been beginning my second year of uni, studying and working hard but also trying to make the most of my social life too! I still haven't quite hacked the drinking and partying lifestyle of a uni student, but I'm definitely getting better at mastering the no-hangover night outs!
Overall, despite a rocky few starting months of 2016, this year has been brilliant. I feel like as a person I've achieved so much, a lot of which would be really insignificant to many, but to me mean the world. It's left me so excited to see what the next year brings, I can't wait to get out there, make a hundred more memories and kick 2017's butt!
