top - dorothy perkins // jeans - topshop // trainers - next

I ended up spending just £2 on this checkered top, using a voucher I got for my birthday a few months ago. I think it's possible that I now own every single checkered shirt under the sun. I can already tell at uni I will live in checks and leggings all day every day. Also may I point out a recent purchase - my slip on trainers from next. I've wanted a pair of slip ons for ages now but my skinny feet had refused until now! They're the comfiest things ever.

TOP - TOPSHOP // SHORTS - NEW LOOK

I love this top so much, even if my brother did say I looked like an old lampshade. I've loved the bare-shoulder trend this summer, just wished the English weather gave me more opportunities to dress like this!! For £16 from Topshop it was a steal. Have you got into the bare shoulder trend this season?

Life as as a student: one month to go

Sunday, 23 August 2015

Exactly one month today I'll be settling into my new home: the University of East Anglia. I'm attending UEA for 3 years to study Geography.

University is something I've always had my heart on. I love to learn and be in a learning environment, and the social aspects have always appealed to me just as much. They always say university will be the best years of your life. Despite it being a scary process, I know it's the right thing for me and this time in 3 years I'll be grateful to have done it, with hundreds of memories and new life experience learnt.

Thankfully UEA isn't far from my hometown, Ipswich. It's far enough away for me to feel independent but close enough for me to jump on a train when I need a mummy cuddle or a proper homemade meal. Nonetheless, it's still a very daunting thing for me. I'll be living on my own for the first time with complete independence, some of which I haven't yet gained! I'll be leaving my family, my friends and my boyfriend and made to make new ones. I'm excited to meet new people and start new adventures, building both my experiences and myself as a person.

Did you go to uni? Do you have any tips for me?

My current favourite artist: Oh Wonder

Friday, 21 August 2015

It's not very often I write about music. I've always been a music girl, right back to my fangirl days (the fangirl emotions are very much alive, hidden inside of me.) Around 6 months ago I pondered across the South-London duo 'Oh Wonder' on spotify. I patiently wait every month for them to release a new song - something they've been doing since January and will be until December, also, something that apparently, hasn't been done since 1992. Their songs are the perfect chill out tunes, with a soft beat and clearly well-thought lyrics, So good, I find it impossible to pick a favourite.
